We are located at Sundre, Alberta-gateway to the west country. Our family run farming operation is nestled in the foothills of the majestic Canadian rocky mountains. We specialize in export timothy hay and high quality forage for the equine industry. We also raise purebred Simmental cattle and cowbred performance Quarter horses. Our focus at Nielsen Farms is to produce the highest quality product we can. Customer satisfaction is the heart of our business. We take a great deal of pride in what leaves our farm.

The cattle herd consists of red factor genetics with a fleckvieh influence. A small, yet powerful horse program contains of some of the best bloodlines available. These include Doc's Hickory, Doc O Lena, Peptoboonsmal, Dual Banditos Gold and Whiz N Tag Chex.

Svend came to Canada on the International Agricultural Exchange and had the good fortune to work at Lionel and Elma Bird's farm at Cremona. After learning the language and ways of farming in Alberta, Svend emigrated from Denmark in 1975. He farmed in the Cremona/Carstairs area and purchased our home place in 1980.
